White Tara symbolizes purity, the immaculate truth of the Dharma, and pristine wisdom. She is associated with granting long life, healing physical and mental ailments, and removing obstacles on the path to enlightenment.
She is seated in a meditative posture with both legs folded. As an enlightened being, she manifests in the guise of a youthful goddess, bedecked in silken garments, adorned with resplendent golden jewelry, and surrounded by fragrant flowers.
Seated cross-legged, she rests upon a lotus, a potent symbol of purity. Her right hand is outstretched in a benevolent gesture of bestowing blessings, while her left-hand cradles the stem of a lotus, known as "utpala" in Sanskrit, which gracefully blooms above her shoulder. Notably, this particular lotus variety unfurls its petals at dusk, revealing its full beauty under the cover of night.
