Lord Ganesha, also known as the Devavrata (one who accepts all penances), is depicted reclining in the dhyana (sleeping) pose. Lord Mushaka, the Vahana, or mount, is depicted praying at his feet. A lamp on the left side illuminates the entire statue. This enables the statue to be illuminated allowing followers to experience this enchanting picture of Lord Ganesha. The statue and lamp are both made of brass. The piece's lovely shine emphasizes the attractiveness of the image. The dark patina adds dimension to the images in certain spots. The Lord is represented in this pose in a luxury condition, reclining on a nice throne with a pillow. This is commonly used to represent royalty and divinity.
