Loving Lord Krishna can be of many types. His devotees worship him as Murlidhar (flute player), Govinda, Madhav, Mohan, and Laddu Gopal. Out of all the forms, the Laddu Gopal form is the infant stage of Lord Krishna. He is worshipped as a child of the household in this form. He is offered his favorite food, Makhan or butter, and put on a swing to keep him occupied. The swing plays a vital role in the worship of Laddu Gopal. The same swing is beautifully decorated with flowers during the Janmashtami celebrations, and the tiny idols of Lord Krishna’s infant form are placed on it.
