In this Kalpa, or Period, Maitreya Buddha is regarded as the fifth Buddha to come. The Sanskrit term Maitri, which signifies friendship, is where the name Maitreya comes from. He radiates eternities of wisdom and unending love while serenely sitting on a pedestal platform. He is dressed in flowing robes, representing resignation and cleanliness. His hair is curly and lengthy. He wears a topknot that resembles a regal floral crown. He transmits significant spiritual truths to individuals who seek enlightenment while holding his hands in the teaching gesture known as the “Dharmachakra Mudra”.
The Maitreya Buddha is a symbol of hope for humanity and the promise of an enlightened future. The warmth and luminosity of the copper material contributes to the artwork’s appeal. Every curve and shape of this masterwork calls on followers to accept the road of enlightenment and engage with Lord Maitreya’s teachings.
