$695
Only 1 available

Devi Pratyangira, an incarnation of Goddess Durga is a divine and powerful Devi who manifested to pacify the angry Sarabeshwara, an ‘ugra avatar’ (ferocious incarnation) of Lord Shiva. She is also known as Narasimhika.

This is a spectacular idol of Devi Pratyangira made of authentic Swamimalai Panchaloha Bronze (Panchaloha refers to five metals- Gold, Silver, Zinc, Copper, Lead) which is considered to be extremely auspicious.

Here, she appears in the form of a human lion sitting atop a lion. She holds a trident, a cobra, a hand-drum with a cobra and a Kapala (Skull cup used in rituals) in her four hands. She wears a garland of skulls around her neck. A seven-headed serpent forms an umbrella-like shape over her head.

Offering prayers to Devi Pratyangira is believed to protect us from all negative influences and lead us in the right direction. She is also believed to ward off harmful influences of black magic and evil spirits. The idol is made using a method called the Madhuchishta vidhana or lost-wax technique giving it immense precision and charisma. The visage, though austere invokes deep veneration and deference. The face of the lion too has a lifelike finesse. A divine masterpiece and classic work of craftsmanship.
