Guiding you to the Karma Kagyu Refuge Tree, which highlights the teachings and blessings passed down from master to disciple, underlining the lineage's interconnectedness and the assistance that practitioners can receive. The Karma Kagyu Refuge tree celebrates the Vajrayana tradition, which encourages esoteric practices and teachings.
The Vajradhara Refuge tree's heart houses Vajradhara, the primordial Buddha who represents the ultimate level of enlightenment. Vajradhara is decorated with pictures of several Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, gods, and lineage instructors. The Yidams are displayed on the front branch, the Dharmapalas are surrounded by their attendants beneath the Lamas, and the Sangha is depicted on the right by Bodhisattvas and monks. On the left, a mound of pechas (religious books) depicts their beliefs.
In the Karma Kagyu Tradition, a lineage of enlightened gurus who transmit teachings and practices is highly respected. As a result, Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, and Gampopa are among the lineage gurus who appear on the Refuge Tree. These gurus are highly respected for their association with and commitment to passing on the wisdom of Mahamudra and other profound religious practices.
