Vajra Yogini is who signifies the figure in Vajrayana or Tantric Buddhism. She represents the feminine manifestation of cognitive function that leads to spiritual enlightenment. Vajrayana places a strong emphasis on direct experience over mere philosophical views, using imagery from everyday life to deepen one’s understanding of the dual aspect of action (upaya) and awareness (prajna), which mutually support each other. Vajra Yogini is often described as a frightening figure, grasping a skull as a well as sword in her left hand, her right leg extended outside, and her left leg bent at the knees. She is surrounded by cremation grounds, symbolizing that the ordinary world is perceived as lifeless compared to the rich inner world of consciousness and its unclouded perception of reality.
