The artist has brought out a very interesting conception of the turbulent condition of the mind of a yogi .With one sweep over the the amazing composition ,the connect that it strikes with the title that the artist has chosen for it, becomes unquestionable, and almost pleases you with its aptness.
The horses running amok, all over ,with the pilot - the rider totally incapacitated. There is the rendition of perfect anarchy, absolute chaos prevalent, achieved adroitly by the artist. In fact the conception lands as if almost tailor made for the idea meant to be conveyed.
The rich tapestry of the imagery incorporated along with the way color has been used, lends its own pleasant charm to the almost melodramatic expression of the idea, in the process making the statement all the more powerful. The riders thrown off gear; the flames as if ready to devour the half faded human figures in the backdrop communicating wild bewailing; amidst wild waves. The images of women in nude quite evidently contributes to the obvious suggestiveness the artist uses them for, conveying strong overtones of suppressed sexuality.
The element of surprise along with a profound almost philosophical statement gives the work a strong surreal aroma. That forcing the mind to become tame, could become as harrowing as the one, the painting speaks of, could be the wisdom one could spend a lifetime failing to learn.
Through the exposure of the hoax, the artist seems to be asking loud and clear, if it is possible to live in this world, not run away from it, not go off into commune, become a hermit or a monk,a so-called yogi , but live here, in this very world - sanely, happily, intelligently without all the battle going on, inwardly and outwardly.
