Venkateshwara, the Swami of Tirupati embodies gunas of the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) in his supreme form. Considered to be Vishnu’s Kaliyuga avatar - The Swami of Tirumala stands on a disc and in the Prabhavali of gold plate, studded with stones - with lit hanging lamps on each side. On each shoulder of his, are placed Sudarshana Chakra and Panchajanaya. His one hand rests in Katihasta and the other hand extends out in Varada, granting fulfillment. A gorgeous work of Tanjore art, this painting takes one to the Venkuntha directly at a glance.
