The most prominent and secret aspect of this school of art is the enormous influence that the Tantra has exercised. This mandala is dedicated to the Hindu Trinity. The symbol of Vishnu's feet finds a central place, with triangles around it depicting the attributes of Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma; conch and a disc of Vishnu; a drum and a trident of Shiva and the lotus associated with Brahma form the core design. Lotus petals with floral designs surround this. A set of four peacocks gracefully adorn the circular design. The thin neck, tapered beaks and the tail, its most characteristic feature, are painted with patterns. To be able to bring out the beauty and majesty of the colourful bird in just one colour, was certainly a hard task. The corners have been given a semi-circular end with step-wise patterns. The empty spaces are filled with stems and leaves, arising out of nowhere and ending similarly.
