Ganjifa paintings are a contemporary interpretation of the old Ganjifa painting style. Ganjifa is a distorted variant of the Persian term Ganjifeh, which means "playing cards." The Mughals brought this painting technique to India in the form of playing cards, which were typically circular or rectangular in shape. This Ganjifa painting in Mysore style (Mysore produces a separate kind of Ganjifa) depicts Lord Shiva's Divine household.
