He is shown here seated on a moon disk placed on a lotus The lotus is placed on a throne which is being lifted by semi-divine beings. The complexion of Vajradhara is blue. Both of his crossed hands hold the stems of lotuses. The lotuses support a vajra and vajra-ghanta on either side. He is wearing the Bodhisattva crown, as well as the dress and ornaments of an Indian prince. He has the urna between the eyebrows and usanisa on the head and above it is a vajra. He is wearing a flowing scarf and printed dhoti as lower garment. There is a yellow halo behind the head and multi-coloured mandorla behind the body. His consort is seated to his right side and in playing a musical instrument. She is also wearing a crown, a blouse, a printed dhoti as lower garment, necklaces, armlets, ear-rings, bracelets and anklets. Both figures have been depicted on the front of a temple, constructed in the Tibetan style. Above the temple, on the right side, a lama has been shown in seated posture who is holding a book in his left hand. In the middle ground on the proper right side, a small temple, walls of monastery, monks, trees and rooks have been depicted. In the foreground, flowers, animals and precious offerings etc. have been depicted.
Composition and colour combination of the painting is soft and skilful, and pleasing to the eye.
