Inspired by the miniature master artists of Guler-Kangra, this watercolor painting by Gaurav Rajput recreates the beautiful moments of the togetherness of Radha-Krishna, in the heart of Vrindavan forest, where spring has found its earthly home in the company of the divine duo. Mango trees and flowers bloom in the background, against which the regally adorned Radha-Krishna stands, with Krishna embracing his beloved, holding her chin to gaze at her moon face. Dressed in lovely pink and orange, Radha coyly offers Krishna a beetle leaf or Paan, a traditional symbol of invitation for acts of romance in Indian culture. Lost in each other’s gaze, Radha and Krishna paint this artwork with their divine love, inspiring Prema-rasa (emotion of affection) in the onlooker.
