The tale of Radha-Krishna in the culture of India is as old as time. In a visual retelling of the divine romance of the duo, Jugal Sarkar in this oil on canvas painting delineates the delicate togetherness of the two, using vibrant shades and his own imagination of the pair’s beautiful connection. A lush forest, dotted with colorful patterns and motifs forms the background for the painting, on whose left half appears Kanha with his flute and a pot of Makhan placed near him. In the center is a peacock, accompanied by Sri Radha who is wrapped in the colors of Krishna, standing coyly, holding a white flower symbolic of her pure affection and adorned with vermillion Tika, which represents the idea of conjugal bliss and a bond which is eternal!
