The body of this elephant-headed deity, which is human in form, is painted in red pigment. A distinct feature of this painting is the long, slim trunk, which curls up towards the right, holding a bell. The direction of the trunk in Ganesha's images is important as the image with the trunk towards the right i.e. towards the pingla-nadi has to be worshipped by particular rituals. The Siddhi Vinayaka Ganesha is usually represented so. In two of the four arms Ganesha holds attributes, which have allegorical meaning which communicate the essence of the deity. He stands in a dwibhanga posture, in a seemingly dancing pose. He wears a small crown, necklaces reaching up to his pot-belly.
Basic colors are predominantly used. The yellow shoulder cloth uplifts the red of Ganesha's body. The outline is in strong, bold lines. In the foreground are two mice looking up to Ganesha. The broad border is as bright as the main painting, lending it a vibrant quality.
