Venugopala- Krishna with his Venu or flute is a heart-warming and divine image of the blue-skinned incarnation of Vishnu, whose darshan (seeing) leads one into Vrindavan. The oil painting shows Krishna standing on the bank of Yamuna, under a flowering tree, accompanied by Mayura (peacocks), playing his flute. Though it is a full moon night, Krishna’s transcendental beauty shines brighter than the moon. Standing in the Tribhanga posture, Krishna seems to be looking at the Ghat (bank) waiting for Gopis, whose heart is tugged by the tunes of his flute.
