Adi-Shakti Varahi in Hindu-Tantra is the Shakti of Lord Varaha and the tutelary goddess of Varahi-Tantra. In this oil painting, Maa Varahi sits in the royal Lalitasana posture, holding her distinctive attributes in her eight hands. A crescent moon in her golden crown, ornaments fashioned from pure gold, and the bright red sari represent Devi Varahi as the supreme Shakti (feminine energy). Her boar face carries femininity due to her beautiful eyes and tinges of pink. With this dark-colored physique, goddess Varahi is known as “Dhumra-Varahi” (dhumra-smoke-colored).
