The upper ranges of the great Himalayas. At the centre of the canvas is the indubitable Mount Everest, its pristine glacial beauty forming the focus of the composition. There is a ridge blocking the complete view of the Everest. Flanked by more peaks of the upper ranges of the Himalayas, a deep charcoal colour punctuated by brustrokes in Prussian blue.
In the foreground of the canvas is a lake. In its cool waters bathe the wild oxes that inhabit the surrounding region. There are a total of four of them, having stepped into the cold waters through boulders almost as big as their bovine bodies, causing gentle ripples to form around.
The minimalistic colour palette of this painting comprises white, charcoal, and Prussian blue. The lake below is a slightly darker shade than the skies above. Hints of the same blue have been introduced into the white and charcoal peaks in order to break the monotony of those colours.
