Here is the painting of the one who captures everyone’s heart and takes away all the pains and troubles from one’s life. He is so merciful that although He is the Supreme Lord, He appeared on the earth in Dwaparyuga as an ordinary child to engage His devotees in His transcendental pastimes and reciprocate unconditional love between Him and them. He is Krishna, who is so attractive that His beauty cannot be excelled by even thousands of cupids.
Baby Krishna was fond of stealing and eating butter from the houses of gopis of Vrindavan for which He is also called Makhan chor (one who steals butter). When the gopis would complain to Mother Yashoda about the naughty activities of Krishna, she would chastise Him and then He would make a pitiable face.
Seeing this, Mother Yashoda’s heart would melt away and she would let Him eat the freshly churned butter. Here, Makhan chor is depicted sitting on the floor of a house of a gopi. He is clad in a short-length dhoti and adorned with several jewels on His transcendental body which has purplish hue. He places His flute on one side and keeps a stolen bowl of butterballs in front of Him and now checks if someone is coming to catch Him. Whoever reads or hear this wonderful pastime of Krishna, falls in love with Him and goes into state of trance because Krishna and His pastimes are non-different.
