Anup Gomay magnificently captures the pretence sore mood of the painting. It visualizes the gloomy mode of a beautiful woman waiting for her loving companion, wearing milky attire as she sophisticatedly lies on the bed. She wears a yellow skirt and a matching bodice with an embellished transparent Dupatta. The delicately ornamented woman with long dark hair rests on the couch as she exposes her half-bare back while holding a peacock feather fan. The bleak indigo fabric enunciates the disposition of the painting.
The work is inspired by the Ragmala series, without emphasizing the richness of castles and citadels in their paintings. Instead, they focus on pictures, figures and details. The portrait of the lover’s companion exposes the sensuality of the lady with vibrant colours and symbolic images embodying the very essence of the Rajasthani Rajput Style.
