On the terrace sits a couple, engaged in amorous sport. The man makes her sip wine from a tiny cup held in his hand. She seems intoxicated already, what with her limbs flowing in all directions. Big bolsters make them comfortable. The man's armour lies abandoned close by. The 'hookah' (pipe) which he was enjoying so far, is now neglected in favour of his beloved. The flowering pots in the foreground and some fruits lying scattered have no relevance. The lone candle burning bright fades in comparison to the full moon above. The night birds attract attention towards the calm skies and the dense foliage right beneath.
Mostly, the Bundi paintings are based on the asymmetrical arrangement. In this picture, we observe that the left part contains the building portion with a domed window and a terrace, while the right shows plain space.
