Ramayan is one of the ancient epics that India witnessed. The Tanjore painting you see before you is of Lord Hanuman that has been illustrated from the epic of Ramayana. Lord Rama, son of King Dashratha was in exile for 14 years because of the wish of her mother Kaikeyi. Lord Rama, who is said to be an avatar of Lord Vishnu, his wife Maa Sita, and younger brother Laxman were all together in exile for 14 years, when Ravana, the Demon King of Lanka abducted Sita. Hanuman portrayed the real essence of service for his devotion towards Rama. His heart served for the Lord, and his boundaries were never before the horizon. When Lakshaman was severely injured while fighting against Ravana's son Indrajit, Lord Rama had asked Hanuman to get the life-saving herb of Sanjivani Booti from the Dronagiri mountain, which was in the Himalayas.
On reaching the Himalayas, confused about which Herb to bring, Hanuman, Hanuman lifts the whole mountain unhesitantly and flies to Lord Rama. Tanjore Art has celestially painted the moment of love and care for his master, with the 24K Gold-threaded boundaries, his gold-embarked strength within his 'Gada', portraying his valour and power on the earth. Rare gems have been added to maintain the glitter in the picture and his eyes. Carrying the portion of Dronagiri Parvat, Hanuman brings all the unseen and magical herbs to Lord Rama. The painting portrays the magical herbs that, in reality, are meant to glow at night and highlights the charm of the love between gods and the lessons it teaches to the society.
