This beautiful damsel with idealized features adorns a pink odhini, bright colors being the favorite with desert folk. Her oval face has almond shaped eyes with arched eyebrows, straight nose and full lips. A curl escapes to fall on her cheek. A bright yellow choli serves as a contrast to the pink odhini. The highlight of the painting is neither the marble tile of high quality nor the exquisitely painted lady but the famous Rajasthani jewelry that she wears. She wears traditional jewelry, the design of which has remained unaltered through the ages. On the forehead, she wears 'rakhadi,' a flat hair ornament, the gem set covering the entire length of the forehead. In the middle is a beautifully ornamented circular piece with drop pearls. In the ears, she wears 'phul jhumka,' bell shaped earrings which are a part of typical folk jewelry. Her nose is pierced with a wire containing a couple of pearls. She also wears a rich, gem set, pearl ornamented neck jewelry. Strings of pearls follow the heavy neck piece.
The jewelry is painted in gold with various colored stones minutely set according to the design. The natural skin color, bright colors of the clothes, and the jewelry worked in relief combine to make this painting a masterpiece.
