Kaal Chakra- Wheel of Time represents the philosophy of a great 10th century Tantra, which travelled from Bengal to Tibet with the renowned reformer Atisha Dipankara Srijanana where the intangible philosophy was expressed in the magnificent and profound Thangka painting.
Drawn against the beautiful blue lotus motif, this Kaal Chakra Thangka contains all the elements necessary to convey the presence of its central deity, also known as Kalachakra. The outermost ring called the circle of wisdom encircles five circles that represent the primary components of our being- earth, water, air, fire, and space. Within these protective circles is the palace residence of the deity, a pure and pristine space divided into three mandalas with four entry gates- the body mandala, speech mandala, and mind mandala. At the centre of the mandala is a lotus flower, a symbol of the mind of the Adi Buddha, the enlightenment, and the bliss that comes with wisdom. A representation of the cycle of time- the most basic and esoteric reality of human existence, Kalachakra thangka painting when kept in your office or home will bring positive energies to the space.
