The process of batik is as complex as the theme is simple. The cotton is first prepared to receive the wax and dyes. As the fiber softens, the material can easily absorb wax. The cloth is dyed in a cold bath as against ordinary dyeing in boiling solutions. This is because wax has a very low melting point.
When a person becomes profoundly and inwardly aware of his experience, it elicits in him a longing for a change of existence, for liberation - and in religious terminology - for redemption. This is Christ - the savior, a simple portrayal where the gesture and the gentle eyes do the talking. Here, he preaches of love of god, love of one's neighbor, love of one's fellow human beings, which is established deep in the human heart. This love that Christ talks of is a theological virtue essentially grounded in faith; love that extends beyond the ethical sphere.
Here, the gentle eyes convey effectively what he is saying from his heart, through the lips.
