Krishna is many personalities coalesced in one. If we see him romancing the gopis as a great lover, we also have him as the wise statesman in the epic Mahabharata. In the battle that ensued between the Kauravas and the Pandavas, Krishna acted as the guide to the latter.

This Kalamkari, achieved in numerous colours, focuses on the chariot carrying Krishna and Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Krishna acted as the charioteer to the stalwart Pandava brother, Arjun. The chariot driven by royal white steeds is decorated with victory flags. Prominent among them is the one carrying the image of the monkey god Hanuman, its prominence being related to another interesting tale of the epic. However, here we deal with Arjun's dilemma and hesitation in attacking his own near and dear ones. Krishna uses Arjun's moment of doubt to deliver one of the best ever known sermons; a sermon which made Arjun decide his course of action then; a sermon that even today preaches a path that we ought to take in life.
