The ten-headed Ravana, who ruled over Lanka is the most celebrated king of the Rakshasas. He was a stout devotee of Lord Siva who had bestowed numerous boons on him. In the court of Ravana, with him occupying a multi-layered throne, he appears ten headed and with corresponding arms. Many ugly demons stand attendant with one of them behind him waving the fly whisk. Kumbhakaran, whose name would literally translate into 'jar's ears', was Ravana's brother. He slept his life, waking up once in six-months. When Ravana was at war with Ram, he summoned his brother. Kumbhakarna, who, holding the trident, bows down before his brother, ready to do any bidding. He appears with the horns, tail and fangs of a beast. His feet end in claws, while the rest of his body, human like, is gigantic.
The highlight of this miniature are the interesting demon heads carrying different weapons.
