His very long hair is falling down passing his neck to his shoulder and ending at the waist like water cascading down a fall. Shiva is sporting snakes on his both arms and also another one clinging around his neck. Actually such sort of odd outfits and ornaments reveals his enormous acceptance.
Lord Shiva’s expression is very serene and the wave of water (river Ganga), pouring forth from the top of his head is adding essence to his divine halo. Lord is looking so lean because he is on high meditation and maybe he didn’t fill his regular appetite for the past few days. With the background in red, the painting actually spills the angry nature of Shiva but the multi-layer frame is controlling the contrast. It is also said that hills and mountains are his bones and rivers are the veins of Lord Shiva. His movements are the passing of ages and his calmness is universal happiness.
