With masterful brushstrokes and a soothing color palette, Samiran Sarkar brings forth the beauty of Banaras, as the first rays of the Sun descend to prostrate in the court of Lord of Kashi. On the left half of the horizontally laid canvas of this painting, is the natural beauty of the holy river Ganga, which appears divine, mirroring the pristine exquisiteness of the morning sky. The right section of the painting is animated by the ancient shrines, ascetics, and devotees, who have woken up and come to the banks to perform the first rituals of the day and take a Pratah Kaleen (early morning) dip in the waters of the Mokshadayini, Maa Ganga.
