She is dressed in brightly coloured silks and jewels, Her ten arms raised on either side of Her in all Her ferocity. In one of those is the severed head of an adharmee, an allusion to Her Kaliroopa manifestation. She is balanced on the back of the simhavanana, Her long black braid flourishing behind Her. Zoom in on its expressive face and then on to the Devi’s with the fish nosering, and note the composure of bloodthirsty wrath on both. The basic but bright colour palette and the cheerful floral motifs of the backdrop serve to offset the wrath pouring forth from the Devi’s persona.
