Guler, on river Banaganga, around the lower hills of the Himalayan range, developed a painting style unique by itself. All paintings pertaining to this style have a superb sense of composition and a keenness for minutest details.

The pure and delicate colours used in this painting, together with the firm and unswerving line, instantly catch the eye of the viewer. The dancing posture of the three women displays the elegance and grace of female form. Tremulous eyes, smile hovering on the lips, straight noses and gently rounded chins form the perfect features. Ornamentation of the figures is done by decorating their costumes in golden and their ornaments with coloured glass replicating gems. They wear lehengas of thick material, very short cholis, coming up to the breast line and opaque odhinis. The man is guiding the dance movements. His well proportionate facial features can be seen in profile. He wears a chakdar jama best described as a long full skirted coat reaching up to his knees; a long shoulder cloth fall on his left arm and the right shoulder.

The background is an interesting as the protagonists. The artist has apprehended the beauties of nature with sensibility and dexterity.
