A Tanjore painting of Sri Ganesha is a rich and sacred vision of the auspicious Hindu god.
This painting presented the Chaturbhuja or four-armed Ganapati, adorned with Tripunda on the forehead, a garland of lotuses, Peetambara (yellow garment), seated on a regal throne embellished with golden Kirtimukha aureole and bright red color, symbol of Shakti or divine energy.
Flowers painted in the foreground, with the bowl of Modaka and Mushaka (rat) of Ganesha, enhance the devotional atmosphere of the painting, giving it the ambiance of a temple of Ganapati.
