This authentic Tanjore style shows the Supreme Lord Krishna, the reservoir of bliss and endless mercy who attracts everyone with His uncommon activities and bodily features. The precision with which this painting has been portrayed is praiseworthy. This is not just a painting but the enlivened energy of Lord Krishna that is beyond this material world. He Bestows His causeless mercy upon the conditioned beings so that they can experience the never-ending spiritual bliss. Whoever sees Krishna sees the ever-joyous celebration and an eternal festival.
Here, He the All-Attractive Krishna is seated on a recliner and is accompanied by Mother Yashoda whose eyes are filled with great affection for her sweet child. She has decorated Him with a beautiful band and a peacock feather on His head and several effulgent gold ornaments on His transcendental fair-complexioned body. Makhan Chor Krishna is very fond of stealing and eating butter and holds a big pot full of butterballs around His left arm. He slightly tilts His delicate neck to one side and brings a soft and gentle smile on His moonlike face that takes away everyone’s pains and situates them in an ecstatic state. Mother Yashoda is attired in a golden saree and feeds a parrot a fruit and holds a butterball in the other hand to offer it to Krishna with unconditional love. Note the eyes of Krishna that appear just like lotus petals. Almost everything in this painting has been embellished with pure gold coating and a sequence of shining stones that brings about a feeling of pure bliss in everyone’s heart.
