It is not enough to be scientifically correct but one should also have an artistic feeling. In this miniature, science and art combine in unequal proportions, meeting the demands of art at the expense of science. Displaying here, the most gorgeous of all insects, the Brimstone butterfly, whose large and colorful wings are the eye-catching feature. The wings are white with dark margin with blue and orange visible sub marginally. The lightly shaded areas at the apical are unusual in color. Sometimes certain details beyond the truth of the matter or bright colors are added to make pictures more marvelous. The yellow shade starts from the base spreading towards the apical with little dots on the yellow color and big eye like circles widely spread ever the upper and hind wings.
The background is painted in flat dull green. The isolated figure dominates the composition and the subdued background throws up this insect with complete metamorphoses in relief. The upper margin has a base of floral pattern with black lettering. It adds to the beauty of the picture.
