The artist has painted blooming leaves and flowers in the foreground as an introduction to the origin of man and creation of the universe. Brahma is the source of the manifold forms of creation - Saraswati, whom we see here with four heads, was born of him. She is seated here on a lotus seat, holding manuscripts in all four hands. She wears a crown and other attractive ornaments. Brahma also created the four eternal youths or princes (kumaras), the chief of whom was Sanata Kumara. They are also called his sons. In this painting, they are painted alongside Saraswati.
Bright colours, an integral part of Madhubani paintings are displayed so well here the reds, orange, blues & yellows mixed and matched at random. But all the colours are within the boundaries of a well defined line - bold and steady.
