The figures in this Tanjore painting are divided into three differently coloured horizontal sections. The middle section itself is divided into two vertical compartments. The main shrine is a cusped arch pavilion with a roof crowned by three Kalasas , all completely covered with gold. Beneath the arch is seen the dancing form of Siva. On his left is the shrine with green-coloured Goddess Parvati, wearing a neatly pleated traditional silk sari and red checkered blouse.
The top horizontal section has four winged celestials showering flowers on the shrines. The lowest horizontal section shows the figure of Nandi with various Shivaganas and saints.
