This spread has blockprinted motifs worked upon by the wooden block procedure. The love of Rajasthani people for colour is quite evident here. Bright yellow, red and grey spread luminosity over a white base. A single rose on a sturdy stem with a couple of leaves on either side forms the prominent pattern on the field. Around this are sprayed some leaves and circles. If this was joyfully bright, consider the border. Walking one after the other are caparisoned elephants. They are in their natural grey colour with bright red and yellow over cloth and other decorations. Above the elephants is the Mughal arch and below them is a serpentine, bold red line meandering leisurely. Tiny flowers and vines also find their way in this border which has on either side a broad and narrow stripe in yellow and grey respectively.
