About The DVD

Tabo Chos Khor remains an iconic milestone of Buddhist Monastic tradition. It is situated in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh within the sacred isolation. Once, this space was filled with vigorous chanting of monks coming from all over, now this is a teaching ground for initiation and cultivation of monkhood.

According to the folklore, this was said to be created by Angles but nobody knows when. However, this archaic monastery explores structurally the different facets of sacred architecture and symbolism of the wheel of time – Kaal Chakara. The monastery holds priceless collection of Thanka paintings, manuscripts, statues and murals all over. The documentary covers various nuances of Tabo Chos Khor monastery apart from depicting the lifestyle of pupil and also traces the Sword Festival that intends to ward off negative spirit and to attain moksha.
