Despite the simplicity in the lyrics, these compositions are very rich in musical value and are in tune with classical raga values.
Sawani hs enthralled audiences with her new compositions during concerts and this album recreates that magic.
1.Raag Raageshri:
Raag Raageshri is a soothing night melody. The Khayal 'Ae Sakhi Naa Aaye Piya' emotes the sad mood of a maiden who is waiting for her lover to return home or at least send her a message of his wellbeing. The Drut composition ' More Nainava Taras Gaye Ri' set to teentaal also reveals the same mood of the maiden waiting for her love. She is alone, but then suddenly the clouds above also begin to pour down and then she feels that the rain is her only companion now, who, like her, has started crying, unable to control the emotions.
Khayal composed by Smt. Kusum Shende, Drut composed by Sawani Shende Sathaye.
2.Raag Dhaani:
Raag Dhaani is a unique and rare Raage which can be sung at any time of the day. The composition 'Chatur Balama Saiyan Mora" set to Teentaal starts off with a Madhyalaya and then advances to the Drutlaya to build up the climax. The maiden in the composition complains about her lover who has gone out of town alone, leaving her behind. She tells her friend how cleverly he promised her that he would come back early but hasn't heart from his since then. She complains that her lover does not understand her sorrow or else wouldn't have left her alone at all.
Composed by Smt. Kusum Shende 3. Mishra Pahadi Dadra:
Dadra is a form of semi classical music. "Man Mein Basi Hain Shyam Sauratiyan" is a Mishra Pahadi Dadra set to Taal Keherva. It reveals the state of Radha deeply in love with Krishna. She compares the beautiful image of Krishna with the clean blue sky above and is so lost in uttering his name repeatedly that she has forgotten the rest of the world. The misture of many Ragas other than Pahadi enhance the beauty of his Dadra.
Composed by Sawani Shende Sathaye
