About The Audio CD

Bansuri maestro Pt. Ronu Majumdar plays the rare raga ‘Bheem’ on this CD. This raga is considered to be a combination of Khambavati and Bhimpalasi. It projects a serious mood or ‘Gambhir Rasa’. Both natural (shuddha) and komal (flat) varieties of the note ‘Ga’ are used in this raga. Pt. Ronu Majumdar has enormous control over the instrument which allows him to roam freely in the territory of the raga with effortless ease. Very few instrumentalists attempt or play this raga. Pt. Ronu Majumdar has imbibed the spirit of the raga from his revered masters. The overall mood that emerges from his rendition is that of prayerfulness and surrender with meditation.
