The prevalent ambience during a Manipuri performance is devotional. Ras Leela, Pung Cholam and Dhol Cholam are some of the different forms of this classical dance. Love and devotion, which is the embodiment of the relationship between Lord Krishna and his beloved companion Radha, is best portrayed in this classical dance form through Ras Leela. In Pung Cholam, the artiste plays the Pung (Mridang) while dancing.
