Kadka originally was battle songs of Rajputana describing the velour of warriors. However, today it has become a song of prayers in the Sufi school of thought. Over the centuries, especially in the Dargah of Gareeb Nawaz, Khwaja Mohinuddin Chisti at Ajmer, the Kadka songs are rendered. The documentary traces its evolution and journeys to Awadh to fathom its historicity and currency. The concept revolves around winning the battle over the evil of body and salvation of soul. Thus Kadka remains a battle song tradition and spiritual dynamic is added to it as the lineage of Kawals sing these songs at every evening and enthuse an atmosphere of spiritual vision and perspective. This documentary focuses on the Sufi song tradition which is regularly sun in the Gareeb Nawaz Dargah of Ajmer.
