Jeevan 2 is a sequel to Jeevan, part of the popular Music Therapy Series. The series captures the calming properties of Indian classical music. It aids the process of wholeness and health, creating a positive process for unwinding and rewinding, which makes it ideal for enhancing the experience of everyday activities.
Jeevan 2 restores equilibrium and harmony. It revitalizes body mind, and soul. Soothing melodies seduce the senses into tranquility. An amazing aura of flute, tabla and tanpura create a sacred space where one finds renewal. The enigmatic Raag Bhoopali has been chosen to create this serene environment together with Raag Bihaag. Bhoopali is based upon a pentatonic structure found in many parts of the world from as early as the first millennium B.C. surprisingly; it has been used in China for many centuries and influenced the folk music of northern Britain. How this happened is still unclear. Raag Bhoopali is classified under Kalyan that.
Raag Bihaag, one of the prachalit raags, is an evening raag. Its rasa (mood) veers slightly towards pathos, but a different way of presentation elevates it to one that is joyous. Bihaag offers depth; two madhyams make it more special – tivra (sharp) and shuddh (natural).
Jeevan 2 is mellifluously rendered by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia (Flute), Pt. Vijay Ghate (Tabla) and Mrs. Geeta Balsara (Tanpura).
