Ustad Bismillah Khan When one hears the Shehnai the first name that comes to mind is that of Ustad Bismillah Khan. He honed his skills under the auspices of his uncle and mentor Ustad Ali Bux. He is Single handedly responsible for taking the music of Shehnai beyond the Indian boundaries. The Shehnai played by the maestro unleashes a charismatic aura and has redefined the instrument giving it an immense global recognition at various international festivals like world exposition in Osaka.
Ustad Bismillah Khan has been bestowed with various esteemed titles like Padma Vibhushan National Sangeet Ratna and Bharat Ratna. He is also a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Academy Award (1956) and the Tansen Award (1965). His Most cherished Shehnai recital however is his famous performance at Red Fort Delhi on 15th August 1947 the historic day of India’s independence.
Dr. Shoma Chakravarty Ghosh Associated in her style with such giants like Pt. Omkarnath Thakur of Gwalior Gharana through his principle disciple Dr. Chittaranjan Jyotishi, Dr. Shoma Started her training under the tutelage of her mother Smt. Archana Chakravarty at the age of 13. She completed her Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and has been groomed in the traditional Benaras Gharana under Pt. Narayan Chakravarty. Her style is a blend of playful expression from Gwalior Gharana and the throwing technique of Senia Gharana.
Bhakt Kavi Narayan Agrawal Narayan Famous devotional poet of the country Shri Narayan Agrawal Narayan is not just a well known poet but is also a patriot a social activist a thinker and a follower of humanity. He established NA Classical to propagate devotion. He has been honored by the Government of India as Bhajan Ratna for his Compositions of Raag Mohan Gandhi. He was recently felicitated by ISKCON with the highest honor of Prabhupad Bhakti Kala Kshetra Sarvoch Samman Currently he is involved in the program of poetry for mental peace for masses in which he explains the methods of attaining mental peace.
