Krishna, delicately hued as a light sky, puts his left arm on Radha's slim shoulders. The two lovers are seated on a dense cushion of lotuses and an open jewelry box overhanging with pearls lies in the foreground. Both are splendidly bejewelled and Krishna wears an upper garment of the same shade as his body. Typical to the Kishangarh School of Painting of which this present masterpiece is a fine specimen, they both have pointed noses, highly arched foreheads and intoxicatingly expressive fish-like eyes.

With her right hand Radha attempts to retain the veil framing her face. Her other arm rests on the bed of lotuses and supports her slender, yet curvaceous body. She sits on her knees with the pleats of her dress tucked under her. Tucked in Krishna's waistband is a pink lotus.

The beauty that the artist has concentrated on Radha's face is breathtaking to say the least. A dazzling smile, lotus-like alluring lips, the high forehead crowned with a tika, and the overall sharpness of the features emphasized in no small measure by the pointed nose and the acute chin all play their role in expressing this beauty.

If Radha's face is an awesome concentration of beauty, Krishna's oozes charm in equal measure. His features are similarly sharp but the face is larger and the forehead smeared with sandalwood paste (chandan). His neck too is sturdier and thicker than Radha's delicate one.
