A critical thinker and reflective mind always questions. All seeking starts with questioning. Deep questions are the landmarks on the path of progress. From them sprout great discoveries both within and without.
A great master is able to guide a questioning mind in discovering and realizing answers.
Travelling constantly the world over Swami Tejomayananda, the Head of Chinmaya Mission world-wide, fields questions by seekers every single day. His all encompassing vision, compassionate, understanding and deep-rooted wisdom reflect in his stimulating and fulfilling answers.
You Ask He Answers is a compilation of some such informal question-answers sessions (satsang) with him.
The Hindu Sastras (scriptures) are all in the form of a dialogue between the Guru and sisya (disciple); where the latter expresses his doubts through questions. The Bhagavad Gita is one such famous example of knowledge flowing to the student through interaction with the teacher. Some of our well known Upanisads are also available as question-answer sessions.
In a systematic study of the Sastras the student first listens (sravanam) and then reflects (mananam). The churning process reveals Inadequacies or gaps in the knowledge, the student. To get firmly rooted in the knowledge, the student clarifies his or her doubts through direct interaction with the teacher.
I appreciate the efforts of all who helped in bringing out this book and trust that is will serve the purpose of clarifying the doubts of the seeker.
