“Yoga or Yaga” raises some fundamental questions on the right answers to which depends the future of Hinduism. It also provides new insights into early Indian history which still remains largely unexplored. In a developing country like India, research in history is considered an avoidable luxury little realizing that the hangovers of history have got great psychological implications which influence subtly but surely the politico-economic development of the people. The intellectual invasion or cultural subjugation is not much different from physical aggression or economic enslavement of a Society. In shaping the destiny of a nation, factors like religion, philosophy, language and culture are no less important than economics and politics. The penetrating analytical acumen evident in these articles two of which were published in The Deccan Chronicle, I am sure, will enthuse many a research scholar to undertake further research in unraveling and identifying the historical trends in this country in their right perspective.
