The book entitled 'yogadarsanadisa kalidasiyamahakavyanam samiksatmakamadhyanam'. Basically this work is a critical, comparative and analytical study on yogasutra and mahakavya of kalidasa, which is a unique feature of not only of Sanskrit literature but of other yoga philosophy, since the vedic period, the concept of yogadarsana is most important for human beings. Vedic Rsis are long lived due to the practice of yoga and pranayama.
Patanjali's yogasutras [Aphorisms] are not the original exposition of a philosophy, but a work of compilation and reformulation. Spiritual disciplines and techniques of meditation which enable a man to achieve a unitive knowledge found in the Svetasvatara, Taittiriya, and Maitrayani Upanishads, in the vedic period. Indeed, the yoga doctrine may be said to have been handed down from pre-historic time.
In this book I have tried to justify the use of these yogic Technical terms like yama, Niyama, Asana etc. for making a comparative study. Apart from this the yogic thoughts are found in the both of the mahakavyas of kalidasa.
