The world around us is a compilation of on the watch tower notes written by Mrs. Radha Burnier the president of the Theosophical society. These notes appeared as her editorial articles in the president’s official monthly journal The Theosophist between the years 1980 and 2007.
Mrs. Burnier’s careful observation and deep perception of the modern world and of human nature in general sensitively guides the reader to a better understanding of the Theosophical life. The compilation provides a rich source of handy reference material and comments of wisdom on a wide range of subjects social geographical environment and spiritual among others that rouse the reader to a better awareness and environment in the world around us.
This long awaited book is derived form the series of on the watch tower articles by Mrs. Radha Burnier President of the Theosophical society which were published in the Theosophist the Society’s international journal between 1980 and 2007. The validity and teachings of these articles continue to be appreciated by many members of the Theosophical society around the world. It is my personal experience that they appeal to the sense of what is right and what is wrong.
The articles have been gathered and arranged more or less subject wise in ten sections which partially overlap. Therefore the categorization should not be regarded as final or complete. A summary table of contents is given and at the beginning of each section more detailed contents are presented. In addition the year of publication of each article is provided.
As the head of a spiritual institution the author brings together her considerable experience which is reflected in this work. Perhaps few in the world could have synthesized so many insights form various fields combined with a deep understanding of human nature and its many possibilities. All the articles are presented in a lively readable manner this book is a rewarding compilation both delightful and instructive to the learning mind.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Radha Burnier who kindly permitted me to compile and prepare this material as a book. My warmest thanks also go to the Theosophical publishing house the Adyar Library and research centre and the Editorial office of the Theosophical society.
