About the Author

Author, poet and translator, Deepa Agarwal, writes for both children and adults and his written over 50 books. A frequent contributor to magazines and journals in India and abroad, she has edited and compiled several anthologies. Among other awards, she has received the N.C.E.R.T National Award for Children's Literature in 1993 for her picture book Ashok's New Friends, While her historical fiction Caravan to Tibet was on the IBBY (Internation Board on Book for Young People) Honour List 2008. Her work has been translated into several Indian and foreign languages. Recent titles include The Games of Shadows (Scholastic india) and Chanakya, the Master of Statecraft (Penguin India). She also reserches children's literature, actively promotes reading and conducts creative writing workshops and storytelling sessions.
